I grew up going to church and during these years of attending I always thought that I was a Christian because I was a good moral person and did not do anything seriously wrong.  The reality was that I had no desire to know God, was more sinful than I could possibly imagine, and only wanted to live for the things that I thought would make me happy.  When I got to college God began taking everything out of my life that I had put my trust in.  As a response, I became really depressed and knew that there had to be something more to life than what I was living for.  Then a guy named Nate started building a relationship with me and later on shared with me the truths about the Bible and what it truly meant to be a Christian.  After we talked more and more I realized that I was not a Christian because I had never surrendered my life to God and experienced a heart changed.  So about three weeks later I cried out to the Lord to change my heart and to save me from my sin.  He instantly responded and ever since that day I have had a desire to know Him and make Him know.
