I grew up in a home that attended church regularly. I knew a lot of stories about Jesus and enjoyed going to church. I did not think about God much apart from Sunday mornings. As I entered college, I wanted to reset my image. I began striving academically, getting involved with various groups on campus (greek life, business clubs, etc), and partying. All of this left me unfulfilled and unsatisfied. I was frustrated because I thought I had my life in order. I had everything that was supposed to make one happy. I met a woman who began sharing Christ with me, and she encouraged me to investigate a relationship with Jesus. I was confused because I didn't know that you could have a personal relationship with Jesus, and I thought you went to Heaven by having your good works outweigh your bad. When I realized that you had to be perfect to enter Heaven, I began seeing my need for a Savior. That's when Jesus Christ truly became attractive and sweet to my ears. When I understood that he lived the perfect life I couldn't live, died the death I couldn't withstand, took my punishment, and gave me the gift of eternal life, I asked for forgiveness for my sins and placed my faith in what he did on the cross for me. My life changed drastically. Christ became the center of my life, and I began cultivating my relationship with him through his word and prayer. Since then, I have been able to love and adore Jesus, and I am continuously in awe of his love for me.
